Students created unique jars using a fun painting method! Students put the mason jars upside down and picked their favorite paint colors which all went into a cup. Then each student slowly poured the paint in a circular motion around the bottom of the jars so it flowed down, creating different designs and texture! Using all sorts of alternating colors, the jars turned out so vivid and colorful and students had a lot of fun creating them!

MNCS Elementary students in all grades have been working on their Batiking art projects. Students picked an initial and were told to create and personalize a designed frame around that letter that was unique to them. Batiking is the art of wax-resistant dye on fabrics to create beautiful and colorful designs. With this version of batiking, students used glue instead of wax and paint instead of dyes. The older students will be making something out of their batiking project such as a book cover, pillow, or whatever creative item students can think of! What a great project to learn a traditional method of dyeing fabrics from around the world and create something uniquely beautiful!

The Art & Science group were learning and experimenting with polymers today and how they are apart of our everyday lives. The list of products that contain polymers is almost endless!

It was pure excitement in the Frogs classroom earlier this week when some baby chicks visited the students! So cute!

MARKET DAY!!!
Students in the Komodo Dragons class recently had the opportunity to learn how to run a business for Market Day! Students developed their businesses after discussing ideas and strategy. Many worked with a business partner brainstorming and developing what creative goods they would sell and how to produce them with the cost. Students made handmade crafts and worked on the project for a month before presenting for Market Day last Thursday! Students not only had the chance to sell items, but also to shop around with their classroom paper money. The products students created were amazing- ranging from selling wood-burned carvings, colorful coasters, jewelry/bracelets, boat crafts and hydro-dipping, and even slime! What a fun way to learn and immerse students into the world of entrepreneurship!

Educational Escape Room!!
The clock started, let the adventure begin! Students in the Critter's classroom participated in a classroom escape room right before spring break. Escape rooms are a playful and motivating learning method where students are able to develop and utilize skills such as logic, communication, and TEAM SPIRIT! Students solved the puzzle, completing the challenge in time and was a fun way to learn and think outside of the box!

Just in time for SPRING...MNCS Elementary student with a BABY CHICK!! One of our students did a school chick-hatching project which involved fertilized chicken eggs in a classroom incubator. It was amazing to see how the chick hatched, pecking its way around the shell and the process of the life cycle! This was such an awesome project for observing a real-world aspect of biology!

Everyone helped to make it a special day of performances to remember!

Update!! The Leprechaun visited the Frog Class after they made traps last week. Unfortunately, they did not catch him! The Leprechaun did leave a trail of green sparkles in his path and was such a fun project for students! The legend lives on...maybe next year!😁☘️
