Students enjoyed a wonderful Friday evening of gaming at the first LAN party of the school year!

Some more "Apple Day" pictures of students learning while having fun, making apple crisp!

With the leaves changing and the cooler weather coming, the first day of fall is almost here! What better way to spend our Friday at MNCS than teach our students how to make delicious apple crisp, apple sauce, and how to use an apple press to make cider! The lessons incorporated precision and motor skills, the math and science of measurements and baking, and was a fun hands-on activity. Students enjoyed the process from start to finish, ending with tasting their delicious creations! Perhaps the most valuable lesson learned is bringing together friends to work in harmony to harvest the fruit from our recent orchard field trip, and coming together again using teamwork to make some delicious fall treats! What a fun day at MNCS!

MNCS High School and Elementary unite again this year! Last year, we witnessed the enriching interactions and lasting benefits by pairing High School students with our Elementary students doing some fun learning activities. As a continued mentorship opportunity, High School students from Jim Wartman's Advisory came to the Elementary school to do math games with the younger students, brainstorming ideas using the building and engineer cart to build a home for an animal Woodland Critter, and enjoying some snacks the High School group graciously brought us!
Thank you to our High School guests, we appreciate the impact you have with helping teach our younger students and we look forward to more fun activities planned throughout this school year!

It's that time again to get some MNCS gear! Orders will close Sunday, 9/10 at midnight and order pick up will be approximately 2 weeks later at either school.

Hello everyone my name is Amber Palmquist and I have 4 kiddos ages 12, almost 9, 6, and 3 with my fiance. I have worked many years as a paraprofessional in a couple different schools. I have ran my own daycare and been a lead preschool teacher in both the early 3s and pre k classrooms. I am very close to getting my BA in Psychology. I am a huge vikings fan. Congratulations on an awesome first week of school! At MNCS, we have been looking forward to this time for a while and welcoming back returning students and some new faces to our MNCS community! We hope that our students have had a wonderful week and are just as excited to be back!
We had plenty of fun experiences throughout this first week with students getting acclimated to new classes and teachers, connecting with old friends and making new ones, diving into academics and experiences, and having fun! We celebrated today and ended this week with a pancake breakfast and game time! Students in the Frog, Critter, and Swan class enjoyed the delicious pancake feast! What a great way to end the first week and here's to a wonderful school year ahead filled with friendships, achievements, and amazing learning experiences!

It is finally upon us...the last day of school! So many memories shared and as the school year comes to a close, we look back fondly on lessons learned, friendships made, and unforgettable experiences that have helped shape our students and the MNCS community. Thank you to our students and staff for supporting each other throughout the year and to our wonderful families who have been there every step of the way to foster their children's learning and support MNCS in more ways than we can count! We could not have been as successful without your partnership. To those that will be leaving or moving onto the High School, we wish a fond farewell and the very best in your future endeavors.
Have a safe, restful, and rewarding summer! We look forward to welcoming students back on August 28th to begin another school year full of learning adventures and fun experiences!

Glow Day!!! Students in the Frogs and Critters class enjoyed some glow in the dark activities yesterday afternoon! There was a dice game, ring toss, bowling, glow in the dark art, math game, and a scavenger hunt. MNCS students had so much fun glowing & playing!

MNCS High School and Elementary Unite!
As a sort of mentorship opportunity, High School students from Jim Wartman's Advisory came to the Elementary school to read Dr. Seuss's "The Lorax" to Mrs. V's Critter class today. Students enjoyed spending time together. It helped to form and strengthen the bonds between High School and Elementary students, opening doors and experiences for both! Students enjoyed story time and the Dr. Seuss inspired Truffula cotton candy treats some High School students made for them. They also enjoyed doing some fun building activities together and was wonderful to see the enriching interactions!
Thank you to our High School guests, we appreciate the impact you have with helping teach our younger students and we look forward to doing it again in the future!
