The Intervention and Title I program is building a school library where students will be able to check out books to take home or read in their classrooms. We are looking for any NEW or GENTLY USED BOOKS to help build the library or used for reading incentives.

REMINDER: The March READER REWARD logs are due the first week of April to qualify for rewards. Please help support your students by reading 20-30 minutes a day.

An impromptu painting projects in Miss Klunder‘s class while enjoying the warmth of a Minnesota March day!


Part 2 of Planting seed in the 4, 5 and 6th grade class this week. They planted radish seeds in petri dishes (a kit from the U of M Arboretum!) and will track their progress over the coming days!! Pretty exciting.

MNCS students participated in Virtual Day at the Capitol today to tell the story of MNCS to their representatives. Hearty thanks to MACS (Minnesota Association of Charter Schools) for orchestrating this event and Representative Gruenhagen for making time to meet with us!

Professional Development this afternoon for MNCS Staff.

Students dissecting owl pellets to learn what the owl ate! We found entire skulls of small rodents and birds. Students were grossed out and intrigued at the same time-what an amazing way to learn about owl life.



Kenna Ingles, age 12 from Le Sueur, is a 6th grader at Minnesota New Country School in Henderson. Last fall she applied for the Ann Bancroft Grant, with hopes to take a Special Effects Makeup Class at Faces Etc. of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She was awarded the 500.00 grant in November.
