HISTORY – ELEMENTARY

Minnesota New Country School Elementary, located in Henderson, Minn., opened its doors to students for the first time on August 26, 2013. The Elementary has 85 students enrolled in grades kindergarten through sixth grades, from 13 surrounding communities within a 45-mile radius.

As a tuition-free public charter school, MNCS receives state funding and provides bus transportation to the communities it serves.

MNCS Elementary follows a project-based curriculum where students each receive an individualized learning plan. While there is still a focus on basic skills such as math, reading and writing, MNCS teachers also focus heavily on 1) Environmental experiential learning; 2) Project-based learning; 3) Responsive classroom; 4) Character education; and 5) Technology.

Students and parents can visit the school first hand for a tour of our school, meet the staff and students, and see the many exciting things Minnesota New Country School has to offer. Call our Front Desk at 507-868-0071 x0 for more information!
