Dear MNCS Families,

We were notified that 1 member of the MNCS community tested positive for COVID-19. It is possible the individual was able to spread the disease while attending the program on Wednesday 11/3/2021 and Thursday 11/4/2021. This individual attends the MNCS Elementary (grades 4-6 cohort) and rides the Mankato (Ron’s) bus.


We cannot, for privacy reasons, share details about the individual/s. At this time, they have been told to stay home and away from other people until they are well and can no longer spread the disease. 

We have identified those who were in close contact with the individuals who tested positive for COVID-19.     


If you have not been contacted, you or your child is not considered a close contact. 

Anyone with symptoms should stay home and not attend school.

You should continue to watch yourself or your child for COVID-19 symptoms, which include:

  • Fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher

  • New cough or a cough that gets worse

  • Difficulty/hard time breathing

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • New nasal congestion/stuffy or runny nose

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

  • Muscle pain

  • Extreme fatigue/feeling very tired

  • New severe/very bad headache

  • Chills
